Schengen-Schmengen

For iPhone and iPad

The 90/180 rule, finally easy to see.

Schengen-Schmengen puts every trip you've taken and every trip you're planning on one timeline, then counts your days in the Schengen Area the way the rule works: any 180 days, looking back from whichever day you pick.

How the rule works

Any 180 days, counted back from any day

If you aren't an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, you may spend up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the Schengen Area. To check a day, count every day you were in the area during that day and the 179 before it. Arrival and departure days both count as full days. Drag the day below to watch the window move.

64/90

Today · Thursday 15 October 2026

You can stay 21 days

Overstay on 3 April 2027

Window: 19 April – 15 October 2026

Example trips: Lisbon, Barcelona and Berlin already taken; Rome, Paris and Vienna planned. Vienna is too long: it's fine until 2 April, then turns red and hatched from its first day over. The app does this for your own trips, and shades the days when a full 90-day stay could begin.

Since April 2026 the EU's Entry/Exit System has recorded every border crossing automatically, so an overstay goes on record. Schengen-Schmengen helps you see one coming.

What it does

Plan by dragging. Check by touching.

  • One timeline

Double-tap an empty day to add a trip. Drag it to move it and pull its ends to change the dates, which stay on the card.

  • Check any date

Touch and hold the chart beside your trips to see the days used on any day, the longest stay you could start then, and the days that expire during it.

  • Overstays in red

A trip turns red and hatched from the first day it would take you over 90 days, readable without colour too.

  • Safe-start zones

Green shading marks the days when a full 90-day stay could begin.

  • Leave-by reminder

A free reminder before your last legal day, and more options with Pro.

  • 10 languages

English, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Arabic, Ukrainian, Turkish, Russian, Korean and French.

On iPad

Questions

Frequently asked

Do arrival and departure days count?

Yes. Both count as full days in the Schengen Area, even if you arrive late at night or leave early in the morning. Schengen-Schmengen counts them that way.

Which countries are in the Schengen Area?

29 countries as of September 2026: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Ireland and Cyprus are in the EU but not in the Schengen Area, so days there don't count.

Is this the official EU calculator?

No. Schengen-Schmengen isn't affiliated with the EU or any government, and its results are estimates. Border interpretations, time zones and entry mistakes can change the outcome. The European Commission publishes an official short-stay calculator; check with it and with official sources before you travel.

Does it track my location?

No. You add trips yourself, or mark calendar events as trips with Pro. The app never asks for your location.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Everything is calculated on the device. Only iCloud sync, iCal feed updates and Schengen suggestions for calendar events need a connection.

What about long-stay visas and residence permits?

Days you spend on a national long-stay visa or residence permit of a Schengen country usually don't count toward the 90 days. Leave those days out of your trips, and check the rules for your situation with the country concerned.

Is it free?

Yes. The timeline, the check tool, the safe-start zones, unlimited trips, the iPad layout, a leave-by reminder and all 10 languages are free, with no ads. Schmengen Pro is an optional one-time $3.99 purchase that adds calendar integration, Schengen suggestions, widgets, iCloud sync and advanced reminders.
